Residential Night Support Worker – Langdon

Salary: £27,879 per annum
Hours: Minimum 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Night shifts across a 7-day rota, including weekends

About the Role
We are recruiting for a Residential Night Support Worker to join a friendly and dedicated team at a residential service in Langdon.
Working through the night as part of the wider team, you will support, guide and supervise clients, helping to maintain a safe, secure and positive environment.
The role has a strong focus on public protection, supporting clients to comply with service rules and expectations while encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Work through the night providing continuous support, guidance and supervision to clients.
- Build positive relationships and encourage a respectful, pro-social culture.
- Act as a positive role model and engage clients in purposeful activities.
- Prepare supper and breakfast for clients as required.
- Monitor and encourage compliance with rules, curfews and drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Take appropriate and proportionate enforcement action when necessary.
- Undertake door duties and monitor CCTV and the security of the service.
- Carry out inspections and direct observations to maintain health, safety, security, cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Maintain clear, accurate and confidential records and provide effective administrative support.
- Ensure relevant information is shared appropriately with colleagues, managers and multi-agency partners.
- Support sentence-plan delivery and purposeful activities alongside probation, police and other agencies.
- Respond appropriately to emerging issues, using initiative and following established procedures.
- Administer Naloxone or other medication where appropriate and within training.
- Act as an Emergency First Aid Responder when required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is calm, resilient, observant and non-judgemental, with the confidence to work with clients during the night and maintain appropriate boundaries.
You should have:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, guide and supervise clients.
- A respectful, pro-social and non-judgemental approach.
- The confidence to encourage compliance and take appropriate enforcement action when required.
- The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions when dealing with emerging situations.
- A strong focus on safety, security and client wellbeing.
- Good organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and timely confidential records.
- The ability to work effectively with colleagues, probation, police and other external agencies.
- A flexible and proactive approach to working within a residential environment.
- The ability and willingness to work night shifts across a 7-day rota, including weekends.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training, including Naloxone administration and Emergency First Aid.
Additional Requirements
- A satisfactory Enhanced DBS with Adult Barred List check is required.
- Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends and across a 7-day rota is essential.
