Regional IRIS Advocate Educator
📍 Location: Black Country (Sandwell, Walsall, Dudley & Wolverhampton)
💷 Salary: £25,590.00 – £27,873.84 per annum (dependent on experience)
⏰ Hours: Full Time | 37.5 hours per week | Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
Essential Requirements

✔ Must have access to your own vehicle and be willing to travel across the Black Country.
Are you passionate about supporting survivors of domestic abuse while educating professionals to improve responses to abuse?
We’re looking for a confident, compassionate and engaging Regional IRIS Advocate Educator to deliver specialist domestic abuse training to GP practices whilst providing direct support and advocacy to individuals experiencing domestic abuse.
This is a rewarding opportunity to combine frontline support with professional education, helping healthcare professionals identify abuse earlier and ensuring victims receive the support they need.
The Role
As a Regional IRIS Advocate Educator, you will:

  • Deliver engaging domestic abuse awareness training to GP surgeries and healthcare professionals.
  • Build strong relationships with GP practices and provide ongoing specialist advice and consultancy.
  • Manage a caseload of clients referred through participating GP practices.
  • Complete risk and needs assessments, safety planning and support plans.
  • Provide emotional support, advocacy and practical advice to individuals experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Signpost and refer clients to specialist services, including high-risk domestic abuse services and safeguarding agencies where appropriate.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and partner organisations.
  • Promote awareness of domestic abuse through presentations, newsletters and awareness campaigns.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring reports and service performance data.

About You
We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience supporting victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable client groups.
  • Experience completing risk and needs assessments and managing complex caseloads.
  • Experience delivering training or presentations to professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic abuse, safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working in partnership with health services or multi-agency teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
