About the Role
We are recruiting for a Deputy IAP Manager to join a newly formed team in Poole.
This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate, resilient and proactive leader who wants to make a genuine difference supporting people as they transition from custody into the community.
Working alongside the IAP Manager, you will play a key role in the management, supervision and resettlement of Approved Premises residents, helping them comply with their licence conditions, manage risk and make positive changes.
The role also has a strong public protection focus, ensuring residents are appropriately supported and supervised while providing leadership and support to staff, including out-of-hours support.
Key Responsibilities

• Support the management of offenders transitioning from custody into the community.
• Assist with the successful resettlement of residents and support them to develop positive behaviours and greater independence.
• Support the wellbeing and supervision of Approved Premises residents.
• Monitor residents’ compliance with licence conditions and service requirements.
• Carry out regular inspections and monitor behaviour, risk and compliance.
• Positively engage with residents and provide appropriate challenge and support.
• Work closely with colleagues, probation, police and other partner agencies.
• Support public protection by ensuring residents are appropriately supervised and managed.
• Provide support to staff on duty, including out-of-hours support.
• Help maintain a safe, secure and positive environment for residents and staff.
• Contribute to effective team leadership, service delivery and development.
• Support the management of staff, workloads and resources.
• Assist with budget management and ensure resources are used effectively.
• Adapt to changing priorities and respond positively to emerging issues.
• Promote equality, inclusion and a culture where people feel valued and empowered.

About You
We are looking for an experienced and values-driven leader who is passionate about supporting people with complex needs and helping them make positive changes.
You will ideally have:

• Experience within criminal justice, probation, prisons, Approved Premises or a similar environment.
• Experience of supporting or managing individuals with offending histories, substance misuse or complex needs.
• Experience of leading or supervising teams and managing challenging situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The resilience and confidence to work in a demanding environment.
• The ability to manage competing priorities, workloads and resources effectively.
• Experience or understanding of risk management, public protection and partnership working.
• The ability to build effective relationships with residents, colleagues and external agencies.
• A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt quickly when circumstances change.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• A genuine commitment to supporting disadvantaged people and promoting positive outcomes.

Christian Faith Requirement
There is an occupational requirement for the successful candidate to be a practising and professing Christian, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
The successful candidate will be expected to uphold and demonstrate the organisation’s Christian ethos and values and provide Christian leadership within the service.
Additional Requirements

• A satisfactory Enhanced DBS with Adult Barred List check is required.
• A BPSS check is also required.
• Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
• The role requires flexibility, as priorities and duties may change from day to day.
• The successful candidate will need to be comfortable providing out-of-hours support as part of the role.

Relocation Package
An £8,000 relocation package is available for successful candidates who need to relocate closer to Poole for the role.
Please note that the relocation payment is taxable and is subject to the organisation’s terms and conditions. The package is designed to assist with reasonable relocation expenses and support candidates settling into their new location.
