Salary: £25,268 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Flexible – some daytime, evening and weekend work may be required

Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for an Intensive Supervision Court Women’s Specialist to join a specialist Women’s Justice Service supporting women involved in the criminal justice system.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced support or justice professional to provide trauma-informed emotional and practical support to women with complex and multiple needs.
The Role
The Intensive Supervision Court is a specialist problem-solving court supporting women who are on the cusp of custody. Women may receive community orders requiring them to engage with intensive support from a range of services.
As the Women’s Specialist, you will provide consistent support throughout a woman’s order, helping her to address the issues contributing to her involvement with the criminal justice system and work towards safer and more positive outcomes.
You will:

• Manage a caseload, including risk and needs assessments, support planning, case reviews and outcome monitoring.
• Provide one-to-one emotional and practical support.
• Attend regular court review meetings and support women to progress through relevant programmes.
• Facilitate programmes and workshops covering areas such as parenting, self-esteem, domestic abuse, healthy relationships, relaxation and communication.
• Advocate for clients and represent their interests at multi-agency and partnership meetings.
• Work closely with criminal justice, health, employment, education, housing and other partner agencies.
• Support women experiencing complex needs, including mental health difficulties, substance misuse and homelessness.
• Develop effective referral pathways and ensure women can access appropriate specialist support.
• Maintain accurate case records, databases, reports and statistical information.
• Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriately.
• Work collaboratively with other services to ensure women can access support around domestic abuse, sexual violence and exploitation.
• Build positive, professional relationships with women using a non-judgemental and trauma-informed approach.

About You
We are looking for someone with experience of working with vulnerable people and complex needs, ideally within criminal justice, women’s services, domestic abuse, substance misuse, homelessness or a similar setting.
You should have:

• Experience managing a caseload.
• Experience completing risk assessments and using appropriate intervention tools.
• Experience working with individuals with complex needs.
• Experience working within a multi-agency environment.
• Experience preparing accurate case notes, reports and professional documentation.
• Experience delivering programmes or evidence-based interventions.
• An understanding of motivational interviewing and trauma-informed approaches.
• Knowledge of domestic and sexual violence and their impact on victims.
• An understanding of the issues affecting women involved in the criminal justice system.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and awareness.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and advocacy skills.
• The ability to remain calm and resilient when dealing with challenging or distressing situations.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.

A minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, working with adults and/or children, or demonstrable equivalent experience is required.
Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Willingness to travel across Birmingham as required.
• Willingness to work some evenings and weekends where required.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Successful completion of a DBS check.
