Are you a qualified Probation Officer with expertise in Crown Court Pre-Sentence Reports (PSRs)?
Red Snapper is recruiting for an experienced Probation Officer to join the Probation Service in the Kent, Surrey & Sussex region on a full-time, remote basis. This role focuses solely on writing Crown Court PSRs, including complex assessments involving violent, sexual, and dangerous offenders.

Region: Kent, Surrey & Sussex (Probation Service)
Contract: Full-time, 10-month temporary contract with possibility of extension
Pay: £21.75 p/h PAYE or £28.64 Umbrella

About the Role:

• Write a full range of Crown Court PSRs (Oral, Standard, Fast Delivery), including those requiring dangerousness assessments.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments using tools such as OASys and deliver concise, evidence-based recommendations to the court.
• Liaise with court staff, legal professionals, and probation teams remotely to ensure timely delivery of reports.
• Manage your caseload autonomously while adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards.

Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must:

• Be a qualified Probation Officer (must hold a recognised probation qualification: DipPS, PQIP, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent).
• Have recent experience writing Crown Court PSRs, particularly in complex and high-risk cases (violent, sexual, and dangerousness assessments).
• Be proficient in using Ndelius, OASys, and other probation case management tools.
• Be confident working independently from home, with access to a reliable internet connection.
• Have strong IT skills, including proficiency with Word, OneNote, and remote communication tools.

• Start Date: ASAP (subject to vetting and clearance)
