Would you like the flexibility to work remotely or on-site while supporting the justice system in Staffordshire?
Red Snapper is recruiting a Court Report Writer to join the Probation Service in Staffordshire and Stoke PDU. This role can be undertaken remotely or from the Etruria Valley Office Village in Stoke-on-Trent, depending on your preference.

Location: Etruria Valley Office Village, Forge Lane, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire ST1 5RQ (with remote working options)
Region: Staffordshire & Stoke PDU
Contract: Full-time, 6-month temporary contract with possibility of extension
Pay: £21.75 p/h PAYE or £28.64 p/h Umbrella
Start Date: ASAP (subject to vetting)

About the Role:
As a Probation Officer within the Court Team, you will:

• Write Pre-Sentence Reports for Magistrates and Crown Courts, including oral, fast delivery, and standard reports.
• Complete thorough risk assessments using tools such as OASys and provide clear sentencing proposals.
• Liaise with courts, legal professionals, and probation teams to ensure reports are submitted to tight deadlines.
• Ensure reports meet quality standards and reflect current probation policies and risk management frameworks.

Requirements:
To be eligible for this role, you must:

• Be a qualified Probation Officer (DipPS, PQIP, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
• Have recent experience writing court reports (PSRs).
• Be comfortable working remotely with the necessary IT skills, or on-site as required.
• Be willing to undertake Probation Officer Professional Registration (POPR) following the start of the assignment.
• Be confident using case management systems such as Ndelius and assessment tools like OASys.
