2265B- PO- Remote resettlement team- Bedford PDU

Red Snapper Recruitment is currently seeking a qualified Probation Officer to join the Bedford Probation Delivery Unit (PDU) as part of a dedicated Resettlement Hub Team. This role is primarily remote, offering flexibility while playing a vital part in managing the transition of offenders from custody to the community.
The post focuses on the resettlement phase from the point of Offender Management in Custody (OMIC) through to community transfer, ensuring all required assessments, plans, and checks are completed to support safe and successful reintegration.

Location: Bedford PDU, 41 Harpur Street, Bedford, MK40 1LY (Remote working available)
Contract Duration: 3 Months (with strong possibility of extension)
Hours: Full-Time – 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £21.75 per hour (PAYE) | £28.64 per hour (Umbrella)
Parking: On-site parking available when office attendance is required

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend Custodial Post Programme Review meetings
• Complete PAROM reports, sentence plans, and POM/COM handovers
• Conduct prison visits and manage Resettlement planning
• Handle ROTL (Release on Temporary Licence), HDC (Home Detention Curfew), including checks and home visits
• Prepare and complete EPFs and Licences
• Carry out safeguarding and police checks, including home assessments
• Coordinate referrals to Approved Premises (AP), CAS3, and DTR services
• Submit and attend MAPPA/MARAC referrals and meetings
• Ensure smooth transfer to Community Practitioner post-release
• Perform other tasks relevant to the Probation Officer’s resettlement duties

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Probation Officer with Probation Officer Status (PQF, DipPS, DipSW, or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of the Resettlement process, including OMIC, MAPPA, and safeguarding protocols
• Experience managing complex pre-release cases and inter-agency coordination
• Proficiency in using case management systems (e.g., NDelius, OASys, PAROM)
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
