Red Snapper Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Probation Services Officer (PSO) to join the Probation Service in Yorkshire and the Humber. This full-time, temporary post offers an excellent opportunity to work directly with adult male service users recently released from long-term custody.
The role focuses on delivering structured supervision and key work support during a critical transition period, with the aim of promoting stability and reducing reoffending.

Location: Holbeck House, Springwell Road, Leeds, LS12 1BS
Contract Length: 12 Weeks (with possibility of extension)
Hours: Full Time – 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £16.39 per hour (PAYE) | £21.59 per hour (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct weekly one-to-one key work and supervision sessions with adult male offenders post-release.
• Support service users in preparing for release, including help with paperwork and resettlement planning.
• Signpost to external services such as housing, mental health, benefits, and substance misuse support.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records using NDelius.
• Contribute to risk management plans and partnership working where required.
• Support any group-based work initiatives (experience helpful but not essential).

Essential Requirements:

• Experienced Probation Services Officer (PSO) – essential.
• Proven experience in the supervision of male offenders, particularly post-custody.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
• Proficient in the use of NDelius or other probation case management systems.

Desirable Experience:

• Previous work with individuals with Personality Disorders.
• Familiarity with Approved Premises (AP) or Psychologically Informed Planned Environments (PIPE).
• Group facilitation experience.
